Our work includes the progressive and contemporary, as well as historic buildings renovated and adapted for modern use. For private, corporate, and governmental clients, we have completed projects ranging from minor remodels to major institutional projects with construction costs in excess of $25 million.
Our staff of twenty includes nine licensed architects, six architectural interns, and a CADD manager. To provide complete and high-quality service, we team as needed with additional qualified specialists, including registered civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects. Dedicated to our communities and to the profession, our architects are active in professional organizations, support community institutions and events, and provide in-kind architectural services for community projects. We regularly participate in the work of the Billings Preservation Society, the Montana State Historic Preservation Review Board, the Yellowstone Art Center, the Billings Architectural Association, the Missoula Society of Architects, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Montana Preservation Alliance, the Montana Preservation Commission, and the Montana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Since 1991, A&E's Billings' office has been located in an arts-and-crafts-style building in downtown Billings, built in the early 1900s. We have renovated and expanded the building inside and outside, lending a classic presence to downtown Billings architecture. In 2000, A&E expanded to Missoula with the merger of James McDonald Architects, a firm with a regional emphasis on Historic Preservation. The office is located in the historic Bluebird Building in downtown Missoula. |
